The studio has an interesting collection of all ages and genders, with the oldest into their 80’s. All are positive thinking individuals who come ready to learn, progress, and in many cases heal. They bring their challenges with optimism and continue to challenge my years of expertise.
If you want a longer, leaner look, then Pilates is for you!
Body shapes change with different methods of exercise. Pilates exercises have the opposite results of what body building exercises have. Pilates exercises focus on toning, stretching and conditionng muscles in an elongated method. The opposite would be body building exercises, where the focus is to bulk up the muscles.
The added benefit of doing Pilates exercises is the release of stress. Stress knots and tighens muscles. We’ve all experienced this in out neck and shoulders at some time and know how painful knotted muscles can be. Pilates exercises are executed in a flowing, stressless form of movement. The muscles are strengthened by using the weight of one’s own body, similar to Yoga. Pilates also uses the Pilates Reformer, an exercise machine that is still one of the best pieces of exercise equipment used in the fitness industry today. Go to our studio page and read more about this incredible machine. Exercises on the Pilates Reformer are safe and amazingly effective. So whether you are strengthening and toning for rehabilitation purposes or working to achieve a long, lean toned body, Pilates is the way to go.
