The studio has an interesting collection of all ages and genders, with the oldest into their 80’s. All are positive thinking individuals who come ready to learn, progress, and in many cases heal. They bring their challenges with optimism and continue to challenge my years of expertise.
Pilates done on a regular basis will encourage your body to be whole, healthy and strong, from the inside out. You are toning and strengthening, but you are also working on breathing, relaxing and releasing tension.
Pilates done correctly has the same powerful benefits as meditation, as well as putting your body through a deep workout. If you are needing to make changes in your body, especially with correct alignment and better posture, Pilates exercises will help you make those changes.
Your body does what you train it to do. For example, if you exercise raising and tensing your shoulders, then you will leave a class tense. Tension in your neck and shoulders will continue every time you exercise because that is what you have trained your body to do.
Wellness starts from the inside out. The more problems you are having physically and medically, the slower your workouts need to be. Don’t be fooled by a slow deep set of Pilates exercises. Done correctly, you will be stiff and sore the next day, but no sore from tension.
