The studio has an interesting collection of all ages and genders, with the oldest into their 80’s. All are positive thinking individuals who come ready to learn, progress, and in many cases heal. They bring their challenges with optimism and continue to challenge my years of expertise.
Poor posture and rounded shoulder syndrome has become an epidemic in Western countries. Too much time is spent hunched infront of computers, driving vehicles, watching television etc. Even many of our physical fitness activities, such as riding bicycles, working on gym machines, playing golf etc., do not address the importance of good posture and how it affects our over-all health and well being. Add in a health dose of stress and we have the perfect formula for headaches, lower back pain, stiffness and a lack of energy and stamina to get through a days work.
It doesn’t take long to understand and train the muscles to correct poor posture. Students usually have an an ahh ha moment after about 5 classes. It is rewarding to see this as a teacher. Body shapes suddenly change before your eyes. The students leave class energized and on a mission to change their posture while their driving and sitting at their computers.
