The studio has an interesting collection of all ages and genders, with the oldest into their 80’s. All are positive thinking individuals who come ready to learn, progress, and in many cases heal. They bring their challenges with optimism and continue to challenge my years of expertise.
In my last blog I said I would give you a couple of tips that really helped me to return to regular exercise.
Firstly, do 5 minutes of exercise per day. Anybody can find time and stomach a 5 minute workout. When you are finished, pat yourself on the back. With busy schedules, it is too easy to talk one’s self out of a 30 or 45 minute workout.
Next, do another 5 minutes a second time later in the day. Slowly increase these 2 workouts to 10 minutes twice per day. At this level you will definitely notice a difference in how you feel, if not sooner.
The second tip is to exercise to your favourite music. For aerobic exercise, a fast paced song will motivate you to keep up the pace. And for stretching, some soothing music will help to relax you.
Statistics say that it takes approx. 3 weeks to change a habit. What we are all aiming for is that exercise will become a treat and not a chore. You can do this!
